C50L

Grade 2 Fasteners that resist loosening

The shear strength of the C50L fastening system is reason enough to specify it for heavy duty, high vibration applications. It can be used with confidence because the C50L Huckbolt fastener is designed to meet or exceed SAE grade 5 or ASTM A-325 strength requirements satisfying high pre-load, tensile strength and shear strength.

Grip Data and Dimensions

Inspection Data

A properly installed C50L fastener will posses the dimensional characteristics tabulated below. Should the dimensions ‘A’ or ‘B’ exceed the indicated values, the fastener is being used out-of-grip. A ‘C’ dimension less than the values specified is an indication of incomplete swage. A ‘D’ dimension exceeding the tabulated values is an indication of an incorrect or worn anvil on the installation tool. The ‘A’ dimension can be increased to 1/8 and still meet all published values, provided there is no requirement to meet ASTM specifications pertaining to locking grooves (threads) in the shear plane.
